about

We are a collective of Los Angeles-area home educators and mothers learning and practicing Charlotte Mason's principles in our homes and sharing the resources we've benefited from.

What we offer

We hope to help bless, encourage, and equip other local moms who are interested in this philosophy. Please join us for our conference on October 2 and 3, and check out our list of local resources for more ways to implement Miss Mason’s philosophy in your home.

Our core values

An atmosphere

A discipline

A life

The home is the child's natural environment. We do not curate artificial classrooms, but allow the quiet beauty of daily life and natural surroundings to shape their minds.

Character is formed through the gentle, consistent cultivation of good habits. By training the will and attention, we lay a stable foundation for lifelong self-education.

The mind feeds on ideas, not dry facts. We offer a generous curriculum of history, poetry, and science, allowing children to feast upon the thoughts of great minds.

Jen Taing

I'm Elizabeth wife, to my best friend, Herman, and a homemaker of over 20 years. Together we're raising our growing family of eight children, soon to be nine. I'm also blessed to be grandma to one precious grandchild. My greatest joy is serving Christ by loving my family, discipling my children, and creating a home that reflects His grace.

Homeschooling has been so rewarding and applying Charlotte Mason’s principles has brought so much joy to our daily rythyms. Through teaching, discipling and encouraging other women, my desire is to point families to the truth of God's Word and inspire mothers to embrace the beauty of their God-given calling with faithfulness, joy, and purpose.

I’m Beth, and my husband, Michael, and I have three children in their middle years. Our family served overseas in East Asia for many years, and have been in the LA-area for about a decade, where my husband helps pastor a small Presbyterian church.

I am a book lover who enjoys puttering in my small front-yard garden, camping with friends, and exploring the San Gabriel foothills and the many beautiful tide pools of Southern California. I work part-time editing and sharing the words of house church believers in East Asia.

Hi! My name is Jen and I am married to my husband Khai. We have three kids ages 14, 12, and 10. We were led by the Lord to homeschool our children in 2021. I have been blessed to start a local community of praying moms through Moms in Prayer, a small discipleship community of moms and daughters (Girl Truth), and a local Charlotte Mason learning co-op in the San Gabriel Valley. I have a passion for raising up local youth and walking with moms in taking daily steps of faith in our God-given roles with deeper trust in God, prayer, and biblical community.

Heather Wong

I'm Maria, wife to Benji and mom to six precious children who keep me busy, humble, and laughing! We live in East L.A. where we serve at a small church plant. I enjoy audiobooks, gardening, and a good cup of iced coffee. Our family also has a small home business where we create and sell products that bring truth, goodness and beauty to everyday life.

While I still feel like a newbie in many ways as I learn to implement Charlotte Mason's principles in our own home, I love the richness that Charlotte Mason's ideas have brought to our homeschool days.

Hi I’m Heather, married to my husband Edward and we have one 4 year old boy. I’m a SoCal native with an engineering and teaching background. I became interested in Charlotte Mason and homeschooling through a dear friend and love learning about her philosophies particularly connecting with living books and free play in nature.
